Teaching Methods

Teaching includes lecture-style classes, in-class workshops with students presenting and actively participating in discussions.
Additionally, guest speakers from companies and VC agencies share their knowledge and discuss the actual projects with regards to the identification of ideas and the development of ideas towards realizing a ready solution. Lecture-style classes will introduce literature and main theoretical concepts. Students will be requested to identify and discuss current literature on the topic of the course.
In discussions with guest speakers students expand their knowledge from course literature.

 

Objectives

The course will supply students with central skills, models and tools needed to deal with the very early stages of a new product or service: the generation and managing of ideas. Students will be guided through the main stages in the “fuzzy” front end of that process, the identification of ideas, the screening and evaluation of valuable ideas. The overall goal of the course is to enable a better understanding of the process from a new idea to a ready solution that can be implemented.
